Following the Melbourne Cup, Australia’s biggest horserace, the Guardian has made an interesting analysis comparing the speed of the fastest Melbourne Cup winner, Kingston Rule, with other animals, vehicles and people.

As you can see, swift and cheetah are the fastest flying/running animals in the animal kingdom. Interestingly, Usain Bolt would have theoretically run away from T-Rex, or velociraptor, when measured by the maximum speed achieved.

You can even compare your own speed to each thing if you know how fast you can run 100 metres.
