Based on a comparison of 33 countries in 2013, Japan ranked the highest in average length of hospital stay for acute care with 17.2 days followed by Russia and South Korea. On the other end of the scale was Turkey with 3.80 days, Israel with 4.30 days and Australia with 4.80 days.
