Moravsky Penezni Ustav's non-performing loans reached 24.4% of total loans at the end of 2016, down from 39.4% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 39.4% in 2015 and an all time low of 2.23% in 2008.

Provision coverage amounted to 12.1% at the end of 2016, down from 15.4% compared to a year earlier.

The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 0.357% of average loans in 2016. That's compared to 2.17% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.

When compared to bank's main peers, Ceska Sporitelna operated at the end of 2016 with NPL ratio of 3.12% and provision coverage of 84.1%, CSOB with 3.03% and 60.6% respectively and Komercni Banka had 3.80% of bad loans covered with 67.2% by provisions at the end of 2016.
