Raiffeisen Bank Romania's non-performing loans reached 8.53% of total loans at the end of 2015, down from 9.14% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 11.5% in 2009 and an all time low of 2.23% in 2007.
Provision coverage amounted to 63.2% at the end of 2015, up from 61.9% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 1.69% of average loans in 2015. That's compared to 1.98% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
When compared to bank's main peers, Banca Commerciala Romana operated at the end of 2015 with NPL ratio of 21.1% and provision coverage of 73.7%, BRD Groupe Societe Generale with 17.0% and 76.3% respectively and Banca Transilvania had 16.8% of bad loans covered with 73.5% by provisions at the end of 2015.
