The key to a happy life has been revealed, having three or more children. An annual happiness report published by Eurostat, which looks at life satisfaction across EU member states, has found that larger families tend to be much more pleased with their lot than those with one, two, or no children at all.

Two thirds who live in household with three or more children consider themselves to be satisfied with their lives, according to the research. By contrast the least happy people were women aged over 65 who lived alone, among whom more than one in five said they rarely felt happy.

The members of large families say they are more satisfied with their lives than others and that they think they have stronger personal relationships than most people.

Evidence of the link between big families and happiness comes at a time when parents are having fewer children and the number of children growing up with large numbers of brothers and sisters is at an all-time low.

So, have lots of sex, many kids and your happiness will be assured!
