Foreign capital continues to dominate the Serbian banking market. At the end of 2013, foreign banks controlled 74.4% of Serbian banking assets. On the other hand, the share of state-owned banks amounted to 18.8%.
Bank Intesa is the largest bank in Serbia by assets holding 15.8% of total bank assets. Komercialna Banka and UniCredit Bank follow with 13.2% and 8.8% share, respectively, according to the data by the National Central Bank.
