UniCredit Bulbank's capital adequacy ratio reached 27.3% at the end of 2017, up from 25.1% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 71.5% in 2000 and an all time low of 12.9% in 2007.
The Tier 1 ratio amounted to 26.9% at the end of 2017, up from 25.0% compared to a year earlier.
Bank's loan to deposit ratio reached 68.5% at the end of 2017, down from 73.3% when compared to the previous year. Some 10 years ago, loan to deposit ratio of the bank amounted to 82.2%.
Comparing UniCredit Bulbank with its closest peers, DSK Bank ended the year 2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 17.1% and loans to deposits of 66.2%, United Bulgarian Bank with 24.3% and 56.0% respectively and Raiffeisenbank Bulgaria some 31.6% in terms of capital adequacy and 82.2% of loans to deposits at the end of 2017.
