Which Country Extracts the Most Hard Coal?

Based on a comparison of 56 countries in 2015, China ranked the highest in hard coal production with 3,404,024 kt followed by USA and India. On the other end of the scale was Bulgaria with 6.61 kt, Romania with 11.0 kt and Nepal with 17.3 kt.

Total hard coal production reached 7,778,041 kt in 2015 in the World according to the National Statistical Office. This is 1.23 % more than in the previous year and 28.1 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total hard coal production reached an all time high of 7,778,041 kt in 2015 and an all time low of 3,198,311 kt in 1980. The average annual growth amounted to 2.57 % since 1980.
