Based on a comparison of 177 countries in 2015, Monaco ranked the highest in population density with 18,779 km per capita followed by Macao and Singapore. On the other end of the scale was Mongolia with 1.80 km per capita, Namibia with 2.75 km per capita and Australia with 2.96 km per capita.

Average population density reached 54.3 km per capita in 2015 in the World according to Faostat. This is 1.14 % more than in the previous year and 7.89 % more than 10 years ago.
