Based on a comparison of 69 countries in 2014, Uzbekistan ranked the highest in apricot production with 547 kt followed by Turkey and Iran. On the other end of the scale was Bhutan with 0.023 kt, Malta with 0.034 kt and Zimbabwe with 0.045 kt.
Total apricot production reached 3,822 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 7.56 % less than in the previous year and 25.1 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total apricot production reached an all time high of 4,111 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 1,088 kt in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 2.03 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Uzbekistan, accounted for 14.3 % of apricot production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 28.2 % share while the ten largest countries some 58.6 % in 2014.
