Based on a comparison of 55 countries in 2014, India ranked the highest in beeswax production with 22,550 tonnes followed by Ethiopia and Argentina. On the other end of the scale was Honduras with 15.0 tonnes, Zambia with 36.0 tonnes and East Timor with 40.0 tonnes.
Total beeswax production reached 64,701 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.118 % less than in the previous year and 6.64 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total beeswax production reached an all time high of 65,049 tonnes in 2010 and an all time low of 30,261 tonnes in 1964. The average annual growth amounted to 1.34 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, India, accounted for 34.9 % of beeswax production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 50.8 % share while the ten largest countries some 79.1 % in 2014.
