Based on a comparison of 24 countries in 2014, USA ranked the highest in blueberry production with 262,539 tonnes followed by Canada and Mexico. On the other end of the scale was Norway with 3.00 tonnes, Denmark with 35.0 tonnes and Morocco with 59.0 tonnes.
Total blueberry production reached 380,992 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 10.3 % less than in the previous year and 34.3 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total blueberry production reached an all time high of 420,379 tonnes in 2013 and an all time low of 21,048 tonnes in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 5.19 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, USA, accounted for 68.9 % of blueberry production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 121 % share while the ten largest countries some 135 % in 2014.
