Based on a comparison of 82 countries in 2014, Nigeria ranked the highest in cassava production with 54,832 kt followed by Thailand and Indonesia. On the other end of the scale was Singapore with 0.001 kt, Maldives with 0.006 kt and Cayman Islands with 0.015 kt.
Total cassava production reached 260,762 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 6.14 % less than in the previous year and 21.7 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total cassava production reached an all time high of 276,762 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 71,260 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 2.48 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Nigeria, accounted for 21.0 % of cassava production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 41.5 % share while the ten largest countries some 75.6 % in 2014.
