Based on a comparison of 58 countries in 2014, Philippines ranked the highest in coconut oil production with 1,109,112 tonnes followed by Indonesia and India. On the other end of the scale was Nepal with 0.620 tonnes, South Africa with 2.00 tonnes and Finland with 3.78 tonnes.
Total coconut oil production reached 3,250,035 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.783 % more than in the previous year and -9.20 % less than 10 years ago.
Historically, total coconut oil production reached an all time high of 3,856,702 tonnes in 2010 and an all time low of 1,634,150 tonnes in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 1.31 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Philippines, accounted for 34.1 % of coconut oil production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 74.3 % share while the ten largest countries some 88.7 % in 2014.
