Based on a comparison of 52 countries in 2014, Canada ranked the highest in linseed production with 872,500 tonnes followed by Kazakhstan and China. On the other end of the scale was Turkey with 3.00 tonnes, Estonia with 49.0 tonnes and Ecuador with 56.0 tonnes.
Total linseed production reached 2,095,150 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 10 % less than in the previous year and 8.70 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total linseed production reached an all time high of 4,235,815 tonnes in 1970 and an all time low of 1,664,661 tonnes in 2007. The average annual growth amounted to -0.684 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, Canada, accounted for 41.6 % of linseed production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 80.2 % share while the ten largest countries some 121 % in 2014.
