Based on a comparison of 39 countries in 2021, Spain ranked the highest in olive production with 8,257 kt followed by Greece and Italy. On the other end of the scale was Malta with 0.020 kt, Uzbekistan with 0.120 kt and Montenegro with 0.325 kt.

Total olive production reached 23,054 kt in 2021 in the World according to Faostat. This is 2.93 % less than in the previous year and 7.59 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total olive production reached an all time high of 24,585 kt in 2018 and an all time low of 5,411 kt in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 1.74 % since 1961.
