Based on a comparison of 112 countries in 2022, China ranked the highest in rice production with 208,495 kt followed by India and Bangladesh. On the other end of the scale was Comoros with 0.005 kt, Trinidad and Tobago with 0.125 kt and Algeria with 0.307 kt.

Total rice production reached 776,461 kt in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 1.62 % less than in the previous year and 6.05 % more than 10 years ago.
