Which Country Produces the Most Sunflower Seeds?

Based on a comparison of 73 countries in 2022, Russia ranked the highest in sunflower seed production with 16,362 kt followed by Ukraine and Argentina. On the other end of the scale was Bhutan with 0.002 kt, Namibia with 0.070 kt and Algeria with 0.086 kt.

Total sunflower seed production reached 54,286 kt in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 6.83 % less than in the previous year and 33.1 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total sunflower seed production reached an all time high of 57,994 kt in 2021 and an all time low of 6,600 kt in 1963. The average annual growth amounted to 3.46 % since 1961.
