Based on a comparison of 36 countries in 2013, Japan ranked the highest in deaths by cancer of stomach per 100,000 people with 38.4 followed by Russia and Latvia. On the other end of the scale was South Africa with 2.21, Mexico with 4.53 and Australia with 5.02.
