Based on a comparison of 19 countries in 2014, USA ranked the highest in state petroleum stocks with 691 mil barrels followed by Japan and Germany. On the other end of the scale was Estonia with 0.686 mil barrels, Slovenia with 3.54 mil barrels and Slovakia with 5.40 mil barrels.
Total state petroleum stocks reached 1,410 mil barrels in 2014 in the World according to EIA. This is 12.3 % less than in the previous year and -2.73 % less than 10 years ago.
Historically, total state petroleum stocks reached an all time high of 1,583 mil barrels in 2013 and an all time low of 577 mil barrels in 1992. The average annual growth amounted to 1.98 % since 1984.
The top ranked country, USA, accounted for 49.0 % of state petroleum stocks in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 84.9 % share while the ten largest countries some 108 % in 2014.
