Based on a comparison of 157 countries in 2021, Sierra Leone ranked the highest in public spending on education as a share of government expenditure with 33.8% followed by Turkmenistan and Namibia. On the other end of the scale was Somalia with 4.36%, Nigeria with 5.14% and Papua New Guinea with 5.65%.
