Based on a comparison of 137 countries in 2015, Trinidad and Tobago ranked the highest in energy use in kg of oil equivalent per usd 1,000 of GDP with 445 kg followed by Turkmenistan and Dem. Republic of the Congo. On the other end of the scale was South Sudan with 31.4 kg, Hong Kong with 35.0 kg and Ireland with 39.4 kg.
