Based on a comparison of 169 countries in 2014, Maldives ranked the highest in public health expenditure as a percentage of government expenditures with 26.6% followed by Nicaragua and New Zealand. On the other end of the scale was East Timor with 2.44%, Laos with 3.44% and Myanmar with 3.59%.
