Based on a comparison of 157 countries in 2013, China ranked the highest in egg consumption per capita with 59.2 kg followed by Paraguay and Japan. On the other end of the scale was Niger with 0.260 kg, Chad with 0.270 kg and Rwanda with 0.310 kg.
Average egg consumption per capita reached 8.92 kg in 2013 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.224 % more than in the previous year and 7.29 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, average egg consumption per capita reached an all time high of 8.95 kg in 2011 and an all time low of 4.54 kg in 1963. The average annual growth amounted to 1.30 % since 1961.
