Based on a comparison of 30 countries in 2017, Saudi Arabia ranked the highest in electricity production from oil sources with 154,332 GWh followed by Japan and Mexico. On the other end of the scale was South Africa with 28.9 GWh, Thailand with 330 GWh and Vietnam with 816 GWh.
