Eu asylum applicants by country of origin reached 5,520 persons in 2014 in Sri Lanka, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 15.7% less than in the previous year.
Historically, EU asylum applicants by country of origin in Sri Lanka reached an all time high of 7,400 persons in 2011 and an all time low of 5,205 persons in 2008.
Sri Lanka has been ranked 23rd within the group of 123 countries we follow in terms of EU asylum applicants by country of origin.
