Based on a comparison of 19 countries in 2016, Italy ranked the highest in gross human consumption of other wine with 9,574 1,000 hl followed by Germany and United Kingdom. On the other end of the scale was Malta with 13.9 1,000 hl, Luxembourg with 46.0 1,000 hl and Latvia with 57.3 1,000 hl.
