Horse meat production reached 4,874 tonnes in 2022 in Japan, according to Faostat. This is 7.12% more than in the previous year.
Historically, horse meat production in Japan reached an all time high of 24,910 tonnes in 1962 and an all time low of 3,670 tonnes in 2016.
