Lignite coal production reached 442,306 kt in 2015 in the European Union, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 0.144% more than in the previous year.
Historically, lignite coal production in the European Union reached an all time high of 731,796 kt in 1989 and an all time low of 441,670 kt in 2014.
