Based on a comparison of 8 countries in 2007, Spain ranked the highest in pigs livestock in a herd size of 500 or more sows with 1,308 '000 followed by Germany and Netherlands. On the other end of the scale was Estonia with 24.0 '000, Finland with 37.0 '000 and Bulgaria with 39.0 '000.
