Bulgarian Macro Round-Up

The report presents statistical characteristics about the Bulgarian economy. We aim to sum up key trends in the economy and its main strengths and weaknesses, and to provide a view of how the country stands in comparison with its neighbours and within the developed world. First, we present details regarding the key Bulgarian macroeconomic areas, such as GDP growth, unemployment, inflation and interest rates and internal and external imbalances and indebtedness, including public debt and the budget deficit and developments in foreign trade and the current account and their financing. In addition, we provide a basic overview of the banking sector, such as the size of the sector, the indebtedness of corporates and households, or the profitability, funding, and capitalisation of the Bulgarian banks.
