Historically, value added of agriculture as a share of GDP in Nigeria reached an all time high of 48.6% in 2002 and an all time low of 21.0% in 2013. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, value added of agriculture as a share of GDP in Benin amounted to 36.5%, 23.2% in Cameroon, 53.5% in Chad and 38.3% in Niger in 2015.
Nigeria has been ranked 32nd within the group of 153 countries we follow in terms of value added of agriculture as a share of GDP, 14 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
