Historically, the bank’s net interest margin reached an all time high of 9.07% in 2000 and an all time low of 2.17% in 2007. The average margin in the last five years amounted to 2.94%.
Average asset yield was 3.26% in 2016, down from 3.48% when compared to previous year. On the other hand, cost of funding amounted to 0.664% in 2016, down from 0.977%.
When compared to bank's main peers, Banca Commerciala Romana operated in 2016 with a net interest margin of 2.75% in 2016, BRD Groupe Societe Generale reached 3.11% and Raiffeisen Bank Romania some 3.42%.
