Bank equity reached 2.26 BND bil in fourth quarter of 2016 in Brunei, according to the National Central Bank. This is 14.6 % less than in the previous quarter.

Historically, bank equity in Brunei reached an all time high of 2.64 BND bil in first quarter of 2016 and an all time low of 1.62 BND bil in fourth quarter of 2009. When compared to Brunei's main peers, bank equity in Indonesia amounted to 924,402 IDR bil, 262 MYR bil in Malaysia, 1,131 PHP bil in Philippines and 770,000 VND bil in Vietnam in fourth quarter of 2016.
