Bank equity reached 655 SKR bil in third quarter of 2016 in Sri Lanka, according to the National Central Bank. This is 2.85 % more than in the previous quarter.

Historically, bank equity in Sri Lanka reached an all time high of 655 SKR bil in third quarter of 2016 and an all time low of 383 SKR bil in first quarter of 2012. When compared to Sri Lanka's main peers, bank equity in India amounted to 9,706 INR bil, 256 MYR bil in Malaysia, 9.83 MVR bil in Maldives and 2,995 MMK bil in Myanmar in third quarter of 2016.
