Banks' risk-weighted assets reached 21,049 NGN bil in fourth quarter of 2016 in Nigeria, according to the National Central Bank. This is 3.18 % less than in the previous quarter.

Historically, banks' risk-weighted assets in Nigeria reached an all time high of 21,741 NGN bil in third quarter of 2016 and an all time low of 5,026 NGN bil in first quarter of 2007. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, banks' risk-weighted assets in Cameroon amounted to 2,778 XAF bil and 771 XAF bil in Chad in fourth quarter of 2016.
