Banks' risk-weighted assets reached 12.7 SVC bil in fourth quarter of 2016 in El Salvador, according to the National Central Bank. This is 2.19 % more than in the previous quarter.

Historically, banks' risk-weighted assets in El Salvador reached an all time high of 12.7 SVC bil in fourth quarter of 2016 and an all time low of 9.02 SVC bil in third quarter of 2010. When compared to El Salvador's main peers, banks' risk-weighted assets in Costa Rica amounted to 22,204 CRC bil, 175 GTQ bil in Guatemala, 308 HNL bil in Honduras and 186 NIO bil in Nicaragua in fourth quarter of 2016.
