Banks' risk-weighted assets rose 9.60% yoy to CRC 22,204 bil in Costa Rica in 4Q2016, according to the National Central Bank. This is 3.47% more than in the previous quarter.

Historically, banks' risk-weighted assets in Costa Rica reached an all time high of CRC 22,204 bil in 4Q2016 and an all time low of CRC 7,243 bil in 1Q2008. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, banks' risk-weighted assets in Guatemala amounted to GTQ 175 bil, HNL 308 bil in Honduras, NIO 186 bil in Nicaragua and PAB 71.0 bil in Panama in 4Q2016.
