Banks' risk-weighted assets reached 22,204 CRC bil in fourth quarter of 2016 in Costa Rica, according to the National Central Bank. This is 3.47 % more than in the previous quarter.

Historically, banks' risk-weighted assets in Costa Rica reached an all time high of 22,204 CRC bil in fourth quarter of 2016 and an all time low of 7,243 CRC bil in first quarter of 2008. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, banks' risk-weighted assets in Guatemala amounted to 175 GTQ bil, 308 HNL bil in Honduras, 186 NIO bil in Nicaragua and 71.0 PAB bil in Panama in fourth quarter of 2016.
