This translates into a net margin of 8.74%. Historically, the firm’s net margin reached an all time high of 8.74% in 2017 and an all time low of 0.403% in 2009. The average net margin in the last five years amounted to 7.42%.
On the operating level, EBITDA margin reached 10.0% and EBIT amounted to 14.9% of sales in 2017.
As far as BMW Group's peers are concerned, Audi Group posted net and EBITDA margin of 5.91% and 13.7%, respectively in 2017, Daimler Group generated margins of 6.40% and 12.4% and Volkswagen Group's profit margin reached 4.92% on the net and 15.6% on the EBITDA level in 2017.
