Historically, cereal production in Pakistan reached an all time high of 38,157 kt in 2009 and an all time low of 6,730 kt in 1961. When compared to Pakistan's main peers, cereal production in Afghanistan amounted to 6,485 kt, 550,018 kt in China, 293,778 kt in India and 22,490 kt in Iran in 2015.
