Historically, CO2 emissions as a share of total worldwide CO2 emissions in Japan reached an all time high of 6.10% in 1973 and an all time low of 2.48% in 1960. When compared to Japan's main peers, CO2 emissions as a share of total worldwide CO2 emissions in China amounted to 27.6%, 4.56% in Russia, 2.03% in South Korea and 15.2% in USA in 2017.
