Diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold fell 10.5% to 30.6% in France in 2020, according to ACEA.

Historically, diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in France reached an all time high of 77.3% in 2008 and an all time low of 30.6% in 2020. When compared to France's main peers, diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Belgium amounted to 32.9%, 28.1% in Germany, 32.7% in Italy and 27.7% in Spain in 2020.

France has been ranked 11th within the group of 29 countries we follow in terms of diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold, 7 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
