Diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold fell 7.30% to 36.5% in Austria in 2020, according to ACEA.
Historically, diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Austria reached an all time high of 71.5% in 2003 and an all time low of 22.1% in 1991. When compared to Austria's main peers, diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Germany amounted to 28.1%, 21.6% in Hungary, 32.7% in Italy and 21.9% in Switzerland in 2020.
Austria has been ranked 4th within the group of 29 countries we follow in terms of diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold, 9 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
