Diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold rose 4.89% to 32.9% in Belgium in 2020, according to ACEA.
Historically, diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Belgium reached an all time high of 79.0% in 2008 and an all time low of 30.8% in 1991. When compared to Belgium's main peers, diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in France amounted to 30.6%, 28.1% in Germany, 36.8% in Luxembourg and 3.62% in Netherlands in 2020.
Belgium has been ranked 8th within the group of 29 countries we follow in terms of diesel-fuelled as a share of new cars sold, 7 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
