Novak Djokovic has become the first player in tennis history to earn more than US$100 million in prize money.

World no.1 Novak Djokovic took on the second seeded Andy Murray at the Roland Garros final to win his first French Open title, his 12th major title and only the second man after Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four of tennis’ major titles at once.

The World No. 1 earned a further US$2.2 mil in prize money as a result. He has now amassed $101.9 mil in prize money over his 14-season pro career and become the first tennis player to cross the $100 threshold.

Interestingly, Novak Djokovic was almost disqualified from the French Open after he threw his racket and nearly hit a lines judge in the semifinal against Dominic Thiem.
