Electric power production reached 14,891 GWh in 2017 in Sri Lanka, according to World Bank / EIA. This is 3.69 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, electric power production in Sri Lanka reached an all time high of 14,891 GWh in 2017 and an all time low of 900 GWh in 1971. When compared to Sri Lanka's main peers, electric power production in India amounted to 1,497,004 GWh and 162,303 GWh in Malaysia in 2017.
