Electricity production from coal sources reached 74,291 GWh in 2017 in Vietnam, according to World Bank / EIA. This is 15.1 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, electricity production from coal sources in Vietnam reached an all time high of 74,291 GWh in 2017 and an all time low of 637 GWh in 1993. When compared to Vietnam's main peers, electricity production from coal sources in China amounted to 4,360,863 GWh and 35,733 GWh in Thailand in 2017.
