Electricity production from hydro sources reached 221 GWh in 2017 in Hungary, according to World Bank / EIA. This is 14.7 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, electricity production from hydro sources in Hungary reached an all time high of 301 GWh in 2014 and an all time low of 70.7 GWh in 1965. When compared to Hungary's main peers, electricity production from hydro sources in Austria amounted to 39,096 GWh, 1,869 GWh in Czech Republic, 2,570 GWh in Poland and 4,408 GWh in Slovakia in 2017.
