Electricity production from hydro sources reached 8,653 GWh in 2017 in Ukraine, according to World Bank / EIA. This is 12.8 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, electricity production from hydro sources in Ukraine reached an all time high of 15,739 GWh in 1998 and an all time low of 5,397 GWh in 2015. When compared to Ukraine's main peers, electricity production from hydro sources in Poland amounted to 2,570 GWh, 14,304 GWh in Romania and 183,282 GWh in Russia in 2017.
