Historically, electricity production from natural gas sources in the USA reached an all time high of 1,482,050 GWh in 2016 and an all time low of 169,060 GWh in 1960. When compared to USA's main peers, electricity production from natural gas sources in Canada amounted to 73,400 GWh, 196,188 GWh in China, 401,450 GWh in Japan and 181,145 GWh in Mexico in 2017.
